    Data Courier Administrator

     

    Description

    The IT Change Management analyst for Epic is responsible for change control and communicating environment activities. The ideal environment and release manager should:

    • Understand the foundational structures of Epic software.
    • Communicate effectively across technical and application teams.
    • Help establish change control policies and data migration strategies.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Data Courier duties: opening INI items, researching issues with data migration
    • Maintain Data Courier configuration in each environment based on needs and policies
    • Configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting issues related to the Data Courier interfaces
    • Managing the migration and troubleshooting of application build across Epic environments
    • Maintaining the processes for updates to the 20+ separate Epic environments.
    • Developing, communicating, and managing the Epic environment strategy, including data migration
    • Establishing a sign-off process for Release Authorizations (RAs) from Epic
    • Designing data migration strategies and managing large data loads
    • Coordinating and managing the Epic upgrade and update activities of the application and technical team leads
    • Communicating information about environment activities (refreshes, downtimes, upgrades, patches) and enforcing proper environment use for build, testing, and training to project team and end users

    • Reading relevant upgrade documentation to understand the upgrade process
    • Identifying and coordinating the other technical upgrade team members
    • Collaborating with the application upgrade manager to develop a timeline, establish schedules, modify and use the project plan provided by Epic, coordinate staff, and develop an upgrade disaster recovery plan.
    • Ensuring technical and application team members complete upgrade tasks correctly and on time.
    • Serve as the BOC representative to the IT Change Control Committee
    • Identify and coordinate BOC changes and IT changes
    • Communicate effectively to departments outside of the BOC team on changes and impact to system strategy.

    Qualifications

    Experience Requirements:

    • Proven combination of experience that demonstrates advance knowledge of information system issues, complex systems issues, software design and integration.
    • 4 years experience in Information Systems.

    Experience Desired/Preferred:

     

    • Experience in project management and/or system implementations.

     

    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of Epic certification within 90 days of completing training
    • 3 years experience in related field dependent on education

    Education Requirements Desired/Preferred:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems
